What is Holey Theory?

Holey Theory is a developing theoretical framework for understanding how a system's history changes what becomes possible in its future.

Complex systems do not develop in isolation from their experiences. Events can change the relationships, constraints, and interactions within a system. Some changes persist long after the original event has ended.

Holey Theory explores how these persistent alterations influence the ways a system can respond, adapt, and evolve.

Central to the framework is the concept of accessible trajectory volume: the range of future pathways that a system can realistically access under its current conditions.

The theory examines how these pathways may become restricted, how patterns of behavior become reinforced, and under what conditions previously inaccessible possibilities might become available.

Holey Theory is a theoretical proposal under development. This website documents its conceptual foundations, mathematical models, predictions, and questions that remain open to scientific investigation.
